Intimate Backyard Microwedding in Virginia

Nestled in southern Virginia, Addison’s historic family property is situated in Pulaski with beautiful, open land stretching in every direction. The home was originally built in the 1860’s and has been passed down from generation to generation. A fitting location for the beginning of Addison and Stephen’s marriage as the two deeply value family and chose to keep their ceremony small.

Their day began with the wedding party slowly trickling into the home, laughter rippling up the walls and excitement growing by the hour. Both Addison and Stephen are easy-going humans, and they spent the morning enjoying the company of their friends as they got ready. Of course, there was a bit of strategy involved to make sure the almost newly weds didn’t see each other before the ceremony as they chose to save their first look until the ceremony. They incorporate private vows into the morning, standing back-to-back just outside the family kitchen. If you listened close enough, you could hear her aunt and uncle busting around the property just around the corner helping make last minute preparations.

If you asked me what it was that stood out so much about their day, I would tell you that it just felt so them. They intentionally created a day full of the things that mattered most to them (Addison even wore her mother’s wedding dress), and they weren’t afraid to do things differently. It was a relaxed day with margin to enjoy being in the moment.
